Mine has to be the worst.

I needed money for my 1k armor, as I had accidently salvaged 2 pieces I looked to my materials storage. I had been into FoW but had no idea how much Obsidian Shards were, I just saw 100g as a value and so I went to the merch.

It wasn't just a few that I sold, it was 50 shards that I had collected over 2 months of FoW runs.

Why do people give their s*** away when they "quit"? There's no monthly fee; unless you're giving away your account too, it'd be like deleting all of the saves for a single-player game you have, and the saves don't take up any memory on your comp...

Not really done in game but..

I have 3 accounts- 1 main, 2 extras with crappy characters that i never log onto.

So i put the login info for the two extra accounts in an Encrypted file.

File got corrupted.

Don't know the logins for the two accounts, so i'm screwed. gg

Probably the time I dragged my Elementalist all the way to Snake Dance to capture a warrior elite skill. I kept zoning in and out until FINALLY the boss appeared. I forgot to make my secondary warrior so I couldn't cap anything.

My second char, while in pre-searing, found a black dye.
I knew enough to know it was valuable, but I didn't know that sometimes the merchant lagged. A few clicks on the item in front of it and I sold it for 1 gold.

edit: Another one: While pugging in prophs way back when I was in a party and the mission included overhearing 2 monsters talking. The party leader said hold fire and hang back, which somehow my ele thought meant flame 'em up, because my finger twitched and I attacked.
The good news is they accepted my apologies and didn't kick me, and it went well after we tried again.

Forgive me if I can't remember all the details, but I recall it something like this. I picked up a Gold Sword in the Underworld with some very nice stats, and tried to tweak it just a bit in order to get it exactly where I wanted. Now, this was before upgrading weapons was made easy. So I applied the new hilt and lo and behold ruined the whole thing. For the life of me I can't remember what I was trying to change. I think my mind has blotted out the memory, and perhaps that's for the best.

A lot of my stupid moments have been posted here: merching somewhat expensive stuff, forgetting to change profession when capturing a skill, etc etc.

.. I just wanted to give my real life friend a special mention. :P

I convinced him to get into Guild Wars, to buy the Factions Collector's edition so he could save the kuunavang mini and sell it later. Just so you know, he'd be on a bit of an easy streak.

Anyway, he made a mesmer and decided he wasn't happy with it and deleted it, to make an assassin. When he logged back on, I asked him to type /bonus for the kuunavang. He said he already had.

.. Then he realised that it'd been in his already deleted mesmer's inventory. :P

Ouch.

The other week I emptied out a storage character before deleting her because I wanted to do something else with the slot. I realised about ten minutes after her deletion that I'd only remembered to empty her backpack, not her belt pouch and bags.

Pretty sure everything I have of real value is still around, though, but it definitely wasn't one of my brighter moments.

Just after z-chest was introduced, I bought a few keys and opened the chest without finding anything special. (or so I thought) Didn't have much inventory space for the drops, and decided to delete the tonics I got, Including the Everlasting Transmogrifier. A week or so later I stumbled onto a topic here on guru in High-End where one was sold for xxx ecto.

What a noob. To my defence: It also was before everlastings was a green drop...

deleted a necro with 2 75k armor/black (grotto/citadel) cause i factions/nighfall faces were better

deleted a warrior with 75k armor/black citadel cause new hairstyles came out factions/nightfall

customized a r8 15^50 chaos axe uninscripted

sold my r10 Crystalline(uninsc) for 750 blackdyes(I kid you not) which i converted to ectos only to buy the first tormented shield in guildwarsguru(250e) magmashield uninsc new first time (150e) ang purchased 5 fow armor for my characters.

bought my brother fow armor and he just started playing GW

sold my r8 Eternal shield -5(20) +30Hp for 250 rubbies + 250 sapphires when they were 8k each back then (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) this got me depressed it can be worth 1000+e FYI.

oh yeah and customized my r9 VS on para

got 2 chaos gloves on para and derv - looks flashy but i wasted 160e on that....

bought a razorstone(green crap mods) when it was 100k back then

sold an r8 uninsc sephis axe 15^50 for 100k

dropped mini waterdjinn to showoff (unded) only for the runner to zone in the next tp

spent 50 ectos on dungeon runs for my chars

i could list more but this is long enough

Did the exact same thing with my wand/focus torment set.

People lol'ed so much it had to have been the slowest VS run ever. Good thing that torment set was a gift so i lol'ed a bit too.

My brother was going to do that to me once. Changed my password and never spoke a word about it since to him ^^.

I just deleted a mule of mine to make a new character. But since my Sin's Mask of Mo Zing was dyed black, and it was on my mule for some odd reason, and I didn't see it, so I deleted it. Not that bad, but I had to go through the trouble to buy it again. Now it's dyed white, the same mistake won't happen again ^^.

That. Or perhaps the moment when I was a newb, got at FREE and PERFECT Mursaat hammer from my friend, and I merched it by mistake. I did not know the value of the weapon for a good while, as I hadn't even beaten the game yet, but I was so upset.

I have that problem too... what the hell is up with that?!?!
I wrote to cust sup and they came back with the automated reply of "we've been having people experiencing trouble while trying to link" thing, even though i told them specifically what the problem was, and asked why don't they allow that long of a password?
